Dr. Kiran Peddi was born in a small town called Jagtial in Karimnagar district where he spent his early life. His father was working as a senior executive in then called APSEB, and worked in Warangal district most of the time. Dr Kiran’s primary education was in a small school in Hanamkonda and moved to popular St Gabriel’s High school in Kazipet for middle and higher education. Though studied in Telugu medium, he had splendid academic record in school. From this tender age, his parents always wanted him to become a popular doctor through merit seat and he had clear mindset of achieving the same.
He moved to join Vignan Residential college Vadlamudi, Guntur for intermediate education. Changing from Telugu to English medium with a goal of getting medical seat in merit was a humongous task for him. With an unremitting determination and hard work, he broke all the academic records of the college at that time. His perseverance paid well and he secured 131 rank in EAMCET in first attempt and scored 585 rank in all India CBSE PMT entrance.

He always wanted to create a unique career for himself and started exploring various avenues. PLAB was an attractive option with promising career in UK but quite daunting due to lack of information and heavy costs involved for a middle class family. He was always passionate about medical education in UK and says “ All the popular medical books across the world are written by UK doctors and all the clinical methods are established by them”. He along with couple of his friends decided to explore further education in UK and landed there without much of information on how to take the exams. It proved to be an adventurous attempt in 1997 and all the group failed to clear PLAB. Though it was proving to be very expensive, he learnt how to prepare for the exam and soon cleared it in second attempt.
After clearing PLAB, career in UK was no easy in those days. He had to apply for 550 positions before finally getting a medical SHO rotation in Colchester General Hospital. During this tenure, he became favourite disciple for many consultants. He cleared all parts of prestigious MRCP exam in first attempt and started his journey towards becoming a Super specialist.
He secured a robust 5 years Specialist Registrar training program in Gastroenterology in Manchester Deanery and obtained CCT In Gastroenterology and General Medicine which is the highest possible qualification one can achieve in any given speciality in UK. He was offered a lucrative consultant post but his dream was always to come back and serve own country. To gain further experience, he moved to Fremantle Hospital in Western Australia and completed one year of Fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy and IBD and thus became a sub specialist in that area. He finally moved to Hyderabad in 2010.
